Radiation oncologists, medical physicists and MTRs/Therapists from the field of radiation oncology who want to get to know the role and methods of MRI for radiation therapy planning, or deepen their knowledge in exchange with experienced colleagues.

Learning target
The aim of the course is to provide a basic understanding of MRI and its application in radiotherapy. For the most important tumor types the indications for a planning MRI and the special radio-therapeutic requirements for radiation planning will be discussed with clinical experts from University Hospital Erlangen/Radiation Oncology.
The procedures of various investigations, as well as the methods used, are taught from the perspective of the radiation oncologist, the medical physicist and the radiation therapy technologist.

The course is organized in close cooperation with the radiation oncology department of the University Hospital Erlangen. Experienced experts convey the theoretical basics. In real MRI examinations on subjects, the knowledge gained is practically clarified and deepened. The practical implementation of establishing your own MR program for radiotherapy planning is discussed.
